New advancements in orthodontics make it possible to have braces
which are practically invisible!
Invisalign is a state-of-the-art alternative to braces that is
virtually undetectable to other people. Invisalign straightens your
teeth with a series of clear, customized removable appliances called
“aligners” – no brackets or wires!
Invisalign
uses incredible three-dimensional computer imaging technology to
create your aligners. A complimentary consultation with Dr. Bosonac
can determine if Invisalign is right for you. The examination enables
him to develop precise treatment instructions. Invisalign uses their
cutting-edge technology to translate his treatment plan into a sequence
of finely calibrated aligners – as few as 10 or as many as
48.
Patients wear each aligner for about 2 weeks, removing it only
for eating, brushing and flossing. As you replace each aligner with
the next, your teeth will move gradually, millimeter by millimeter,
week by week, to the final stage of alignment Dr. Bosonac prescribed.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How often must I wear my aligner?
A: 24 hours daily – remove them to eat, drink,
brush and floss.
Q: Are there restrictions on what I can eat while
in treatment?
A: No! Unlike traditional wires and brackets, you
may eat whatever you like while in treatment! It is important to
brush your teeth and aligners after eating prior to re-inserting
to maintain proper hygiene.
Q: Will wearing aligners affect my speech?
A: Like any type of orthodontic treatment, there
is a short adjustment period. The more you talk – the quicker
you’ll adjust!
Q: Is there much discomfort with Invisalign treatment?
A: Typically described as pressure, minor discomfort
for a day or two is experienced at the initial insertion of each
new stage. This is a sign that Invisalign is working – sequentially
moving teeth to their final destination.
Q: Will cigarette smoking stain the aligners?
A: What a great time to kick the habit! We discourage
smoking with aligners because it is possible for them to become
discolored.
Q:
Can I chew gum?
A: Gum will stick to the aligners; remove them
to chew or snack.
Q: What’s the best way to clean aligners?
A: Brushing them with a gentle toothpaste and lukewarm
water will keep them clean and fresh.
Q: How often must I see Dr. Bosonac while wearing
Invisalign?
A: Regular appointments every six weeks will be
needed. This will ensure treatment is progressing as planned.
Q: What happens after treatment to prevent my
teeth from moving?
A: RETAINERS! All orthodontic patients (whether
traditional braces or Invisalign cases) at Dr. Bosonac’s office
are instructed to wear retainers forever (just at night!). Studies
and statistics provided by the American Association of Orthodontists
have shown that teeth can and will move at any time. Sleeping in
retainers at night forever ensures a healthy bite and fabulous smile
will be maintained for life!
